Who doesn’t want perfectly long and volumized eyelashes? They not only enhance your eyes,
but their appearance has a huge effect. For women in particular, lash length seems to
have a large impact on self esteem and confidence levels.
But eyelashes can be very delicate and often fall off or break. While there are many expensive
ways to achieve perfect lashes, from different high-end oils, extensions to mascaras, nothing
is better than growing them naturally. And in today’s article, we will tell you some
effective and inexpensive ways to easily get long eyelashes fast and naturally. From using
egg and glycerin, aloe vera, green tea, olive oil to onion juice and more, read till the
end to learn about all of them.
Remove Eye Makeup at the End of the Day:
Makeup clogs up the skin around the eyes which is
already very thin. Mascara is heavy for the lashes, so removing it gives your lashes a
break. The same rule applies to your skin which is equally delicate.
Also, be very gentle when you are removing your eye makeup. If you are rough with your
lashes, they can become sparse and may not grow back as healthy as you’d like. Your
eyelashes take longer to grow back than your hair and you don’t want to damage what you
currently have.
Coconut And Castor Oil Serum:
This sounds like a possibly-radioactive science experiment,
but it’s easy to make and encourages the growth of thick, strong lashes. Just like
the hair on your scalp, your eyelashes suffer if they are not getting enough vitamins, minerals,
and healthy fats. Eating these nutrients is by far the best way to make sure you get enough
of them, but applying them to your eyelashes may give them the extra boost you’re looking
for.
Simply mix 1/4 tsp coconut, 1 tsp castor oil and 1 tsp olive oil or Vitamin E oil in an
airtight bottle. Now, apply a drop directly to your eyelashes. You can make this in a
fairly large batch and store it for several months. Just remember, use caution when you
apply anything near your eyes.

Apply Aloe Vera:
Aloe Vera seems to fix just about everything, so it’s no surprise that
it may be able to give your eyelashes a boost, too. This multi-purpose remedy makes the perfect
before-bed multivitamin for your lashes. Simply apply with a clean mascara wand before you
hit the hay every night.
Don’t want to sleep with this on your face? Find time once or twice a day when you can
let it soak for around 20 minutes, then wash it off with warm water and carry on with your
routine. Letting the Aloe Vera sit overnight will give you the best results, but a 20-minute
soak is better than nothing!
Give Olive Oil a Try:
This is another at-home remedy that seems to cure all that ails us!
Olive oil has already earned a reputation as a great way to keep your luscious locks
in good shape despite constant flat ironing, but it can also help with the tiny little
hairs that your mascara has abused day after day. This easy-to-find cooking oil is naturally
loaded with Vitamin E and healthy fats, which will help darken eyelashes naturally.
For this remedy, warm a small amount of olive oil. Dip a Q-tip or cotton ball into warm
, not hot oil, then gently apply it to your lash line. Let it soak overnight. When you
wake up, use warm water to wash it off, and repeat for a month.
Use Green Tea:
If olive oil was your eyelashes’ before bed multivitamin, green tea is its
morning caffeine fix. Green tea, which has become a favorite among health nuts thanks
to its high amounts of flavonoids and moderate amount of caffeine, also works as an excellent
skin and hair care product.
Simply brew a cup of fresh green tea and set aside a teaspoon of it to cool. For best results,
opt for plain green tea, or green tea that has been flavored with herbs. Do not buy a
bottle of sweetened tea. By the time you’ve finished drinking your cup, the teaspoon should
be ready. Just dip a cotton ball into it and wipe it along your lash line. Repeat daily.
Onion juice:
Yes, onions smell terrible and make us cry. But did you know that they are
amazingly beneficial in supporting the growth of lashes and hair? Onion juice contains catalase,
which can work to reduce the buildup of hydrogen peroxide in your hair. Hydrogen peroxide can
cause hair loss as well as graying.
Throw one onion into your blender until it becomes a fine juice consistency and use a
cotton ball to apply the juice onto your lashes every night before bed.
Lemon Peel:
It turns out lemon peels are a great tool for hair and eyelash growth. Lemons
are loaded with Vitamin C and several B vitamins, plus folic acid and antioxidants, which will
help keep your eyelashes in good shape.
This remedy does require a bit of planning, but many believe it is worth the effort. Peel
a lemon and let it dry out a little bit, then drop the lemon peels into your favorite Tupperware
container. Now pour in olive oil until the peels are completely covered. Set the mixture
in a cool, dark place to soak for several days to a week. Then apply this to your eyelashes
before bed at night. Be careful not to get any citrus in your eye.
Brush Your Eyelashes:
It may sound downright bizarre, but brushing your eyelashes does
stimulate its growth. The theory is that brushing your eyelashes, like brushing your hair, helps
to remove dirt, makeup, and other debris that can clog pores or otherwise impede hair growth.
If you give your eyelashes a good brushing two or three times a day, you may find that
they grow to be thicker, longer, and more resilient over time.
Apply a few drops of olive oil, Vitamin E oil, or Aloe Vera mixture to an eyelash brush.
Using upward strokes, gently brush your lashes out from root to tip for a few minutes twice
per day. If you’re afraid of getting oil/aloe/whatever in your eyes, do it without any oil the first
couple times. It’s better to get the hang of the motion first than it is to wind up
with oil in your eye.
Coconut Milk:
Coconut milk is a must in the kitchen and in the beauty cabinet. Use it
to grow your lashes by placing soaked and squeezed cotton pads on your eyes for 15 minutes,
then rinse with cold water. Coconut milk is unique among all plant-based milks as it contains
a high level of fats and proteins. The natural lipids in coconut milk work to condition the
lashes, while the proteins help temporarily rebuild them for lush, long lashes.
Avoid falsies:
Falsies are great for special occasions, but try not to rely on them. The
quick fix isn’t great for your natural lashes in the long term, since removing them will
often cause the accidental removal of your own lashes. Lash glue is also hard to completely
remove from the lashline, so best to avoid it if you know you have a bad habit of improper
makeup removal! If it’s not removed properly, the residue left behind could cause irritation,
infection and block lashes from growing over time.
Vaseline:
This is an ancient method that still works. In fact, it is the simplest way of
getting thicker and longer eyelashes. Use a cotton ball and mascara brush. Apply a small
swipe of Vaseline on the eyelid before going to bed. This will make the lashes thicker
and longer. The results are not instant. You will have to wait for some time.
Eat A Healthy Diet:
Eating a healthy, balanced diet is another important step to enjoy thick
eyelashes. Just like the hair on your head, your lashes also need a good supply of vitamins
and minerals to help them grow long, thick, and strong. Protein and vitamins A, B, C,
and E, as well as iron, zinc, copper, magnesium, and selenium, are important for hair growth.
Include plenty of fresh fruits such as apples, guava, mangos, papayas, avocado, and grapefruit
in your diet. Eat green vegetables such as spinach, broccoli, cabbage, and kale. Also
try to include whole grains and protein-rich foods such as legumes, nuts, seeds, and beans
in your diet.
Egg And Glycerin Mix:
Another way to grow eyelashes naturally involves a recipe of eggs
and glycerin. Mix 1 egg and 1 tablespoon of glycerin and beat them together until you
reach a thick and creamy texture.
Use a cotton swab and apply this mixture to your lashes. Leave it on for 15 minutes, and
rinse with cold water instead of the general warm or lukewarm. Doing this three times a
week for a few months should help you immensely.
