Erling Haaland breaks the silence of the transfers after Chelsea, Real Madrid, Man City and Man United look forward
Borussia Dortmund star Erlang Haaland has admitted that the Bundesliga giants are pressing him to make an imminent transfer decision amid strong interest in Barcelona, Real Madrid and Chelsea.
Haaland, 21, ended a drought with a small goal Friday night with his two goals in Dortmund’s 5-1 win over Freiburg at Signal Iduna Park as yellow and black continue to pressure Bayern Munich into the lead in the race for the disputed title.
Away from football itself and off the field, all the focus is on the Norwegian’s long-term future and where that might be, and at first it looked like he wouldn’t be at Chelsea.
Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio provided more context on the current situation: “He doesn’t like the Premier League very much. He’s not in his dreams. It’s not the perfect league at the moment.
“He prefers La Liga – he likes La Liga a lot. So, I think in his thinking, La Liga is the perfect tournament, right now, to play in. Or the Bundesliga, where he’s currently playing.
“So it is not certain that he will leave in the summer. Borussia Dortmund believes that for his career another year should be the right move.
“I don’t know what Mino Raiola thinks. I think Raiola wants to take him out of Borussia Dortmund because after two years there it is important for him to have another challenge. So I think he will try to find the right solution for him.”
The aforementioned La Liga giants would obviously like to sign a deal with the Norwegian, but with a €75m (£62.6m) release clause in Germany, competition will be high in the summer.
