Barcelona midfielder Riqui Puig highlighted Quique Setien on Tuesday as his most supportive coach, when asked which coach he preferred; Ronald Koeman, Pep Guardiola or Setien. Bowie had to face quite direct questions in an interview, and this is how his response when asked to choose the best coach for him was: “I think it’s because of the way he understands football and how he treated me, Setien. He was very close to me, he helped me a lot and I learned a lot from him.”
A participant in the MIC Camp asked him what team he would choose if he left Barcelona, and the midfielder assured him: “Because of his playing style and because he has a coach who understands football like me, Manchester City, but at the moment I am very good at Barcelona and I am not planning to leave him.”
The 21-year-old footballer highlighted the season of his teammate and also Spanish team player Pedri, saying: “He is the player who surprised me the most this season because of his young age, all the minutes he played and how he did it on the pitch. He shows his quality and I’m convinced he can give the club a lot of happiness.”
Ricky Puig remembered his first goal for Barcelona in the Spanish League. It was against Elche: “I scored my first goal with Barcelona with a header and I couldn’t believe it. It was a dream and it became a reality. I haven’t scored yet at the Camp Nou, but I’ve already scored a goal for the best club in the world. I was the happiest man in the world that day.”
The midfielder was asked about the Spanish national team and whether he thought he would be able to participate in the next World Cup: “God willing. Every player’s dream is to go with the national team. I would like to win many titles with the national team and winning the World Cup would be the greatest thing.”
He also appreciated his upcoming goals with Barcelona: “I am a very ambitious player and I am not satisfied with the first thing they give me. I really want to play many matches, score many goals and win titles to be a recognized player, so that they know me all over the world.”
