Dutch coach Ronald Koeman ble w up a hea vy-caliber sur prise at the Barcelona club’s request to sign a Real Madrid player during the current summer transfer period, taking advantage of the Meringue’s desire to get rid of him.
And the Spanish newspaper, “Don Ballon”, indicated that Koeman asked Juan Laporta to sign the Spanish right-back Alvaro Odriozola before the restoration of Emerson from Real Betis, to be a support for the defense line.
In the current transfers, Real Madrid wants to get rid of Odriozola, after he failed to convince Real Madrid officials over the course of last season and Ancelotti did not intend to rely on him.
Laporta permanently refused Ronald Koeman’s request to sign Odriozola because of his lack of intention to deal with the management of Real Madrid during the current period in light of the economic crisis that the two clubs are suffering from.
Laporta’s decision was to return Emerson from Real Betis for 9 million euros, instead of paying more value in the Real Madrid back and helping the rivals face the economic crisis.
