Dutch coach Ronald Koeman, coach of the first football team at Barcelona, agreed with the opinion of club legend Pep Guardiola about the negative impact of the continued participation of young star Pedro Gonzalez.

Pedri, the young star, presented a wonderful tournament with the Spanish national team at the European Nations Cup “Euro 2020”, and an additional task awaits him with the Spanish Olympic team in the Olympic Games, which begins in a few days.

Koeman: We have to give Pedri the rest he needs
Koeman said, in comments reported by Football Spain, “Pedre played a great Euro tournament, at the age of eighteen he played most of the matches completely with impressive maturity.”

The Catalan coach continued his speech by saying: “He is developing, he is humble and a balanced young man, he lives for football, and he is an example of how you have to be a young man in Barcelona.”

Koeman continued, “Pedre played a lot, we have to give him rest as much as he needs this summer,” and continued, “As Guardiola said, having two big competitions in the summer is very excessive, but we can do nothing about it.”

Spain will play its first match in the competition next Thursday against Egypt, which was crowned champion of the African Nations Under-23 Championship.
