Barcelona is still searching for a suitable exit for its French striker, Antoine Griezmann, during the current summer transfer period, in order to adjust the club’s budget in light of the financial crisis resulting from the Corona virus pandemic.
Griezmann was linked to a return to Atletico Madrid during the past weeks in a reciprocal deal with Saul Niguez, but it seems that Barcelona is not enthusiastic about this deal, and prefers to sell the player without any exchange.
Barcelona president Joan Laporta admitted that the club was already studying the offers that reached Antoine Griezmann, and also hinted that he was not convinced of concluding a reciprocal deal, because there was a need to obtain funds from the deal to sell him.
And the Spanish newspaper AS reported that Harry Kane’s approach to moving to Manchester City may open the door for Antoine Griezmann to replace him at Tottenham.
Tottenham will receive 190 million euros from the sale of the English striker to the Citizens, and therefore will have no problem financing the unwanted Antoine Griezmann deal with his continuation in Barcelona.
And the newspaper pointed out in its report that Tottenham put Griezmann as one of the options available to replace Harry Kane, but he is not considering making any official offer at the present time, as he wants to wait for what will happen between the French striker and the Barcelona administration.
