During the past few days, many news circulated about Jordi Cruyff taking over the technical responsibility of Barcelona, in place of the current coach, Ronald Koeman, which sparked a state of anger at the Camp Nou.
After the defeat from Bayern Munich, the Catalan newspapers came out with the news that Barca president Joan Laporta contacted Jordi Cruyff and offered him to succeed Koman immediately at the Camp Nou.
However, according to Mundo Deportivo newspaper, Barcelona officials are “disgusted” by this news, as it has nothing to do with reality and aims only to destroy Cruyff’s relationship with Laporta.
The Catalan newspaper report stressed that Laporta is well aware of what Jordi Cruyff wants and what he does not want, and on this basis, he has never addressed him and will not offer him the succession of Coman to know the answer.
Jordi Cruyff refuses to succeed Koeman and considers it a betrayal and against his principles, due to the personal relationship that has bound the two families for more than 30 years.
Thus, Barcelona officials were surprised by the growth of the hypothesis of relying on Jordi Cruyff, especially since the Dutchman himself came out after his appointment as a consultant to Laporta and said that he would never take over the training of Barca after Koeman.
It should be noted that the Spanish newspapers proposed the name of Xavi Hernandez to succeed Koman, as well as Barcelona coach Serge Barragan, although they said that the latter is not convinced by the administration so far.
Barcelona meets Granada in the Spanish League on Monday, and all eyes are directed to the Camp Nou, so any new defeat may mean the overthrow of Koeman, and it is certain that Cruyff will not be his replacement.
