Spanish press reports revealed that Uruguayan Edinson Cavani, the current Manchester United striker, is considering moving to Barcelona for free.
And press reports revealed that the 34-year-old striker may join Barcelona on a two-year contract, in a free transfer deal during the coming period, after the end of his contract with Manchester United.
The Uruguayan striker’s contract with the Red Devils is scheduled to expire at the end of the current season, after he renewed it at the beginning of the season for a period of one year.
And according to what the Spanish newspaper “Sport” reported, Cavani wants to join Barcelona, in a free transfer deal next July, and asked his agent to do everything in his power to make the deal successful.
The report said that Cavani knew Barcelona’s difficult financial situation, and the inability of “the Blaugrana” to settle the deal and pay a sum of money to Manchester United, to decide to wait until the end of his contract and join Barcelona for free.
The report said that Cavani’s deal is consistent with the current Barcelona administration’s policy, which is looking to sign players for free, due to the team’s economic situation, as happened with Memphis Depay and Eric Garcia last summer.
