Spanish press reports revealed a new condition set by Barcelona defender Ronald Araujo, to renew his contract with Barca, for another period to come.
Araujo’s contract in the Blaugrana is scheduled to expire at the end of next season, and talks have already begun between him and Barcelona for renewal.
According to the Catalan newspaper, “Sport”, Araujo welcomes the renewal of Barcelona, provided that he receives the necessary appreciation for his level during the last period, in terms of salary.
The newspaper pointed out that Araujo receives a very low salary compared to Samuel Umtiti and Gerard Pique, as well as Clement Lenglet, and even Eric Garcia, who accepted a very small salary in order to return to Barca.
And she said that Araujo, the 22-year-old, is the best of those names in Barcelona’s defense this season, and accordingly he asked to be financially appreciated for the renewal.
She said the Uruguayan defender is grateful to Barcelona for the opportunity to play in the first team, but he also has very big offers from other clubs.
It is noteworthy that Araujo has strong offers from England clubs, by Chelsea, Manchester United and Liverpool, as they are waiting to resolve his position with Barcelona before attacking him next summer.
