Barcelona seeks to secure the Catalan team’s defense line during the coming period by contracting deals of the highest level to strengthen the Blaugrana during the Spanish League competitions.
According to Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona is trying to sign Manchester City defender Aymeric Laporte.
The newspaper pointed out that the Catalan team is looking for players who can make a leap in the quality of the team, and return it to its previous era.
Aymeric Laporte, whose contract with the azure club expires in 2025, is considered one of the mainstays of coach Pep Guardiola.
The newspaper said that the Barcelona administration will try to take advantage of the good relations between the two clubs in concluding the defender’s deal in the next summer transfer season.
The report stated that Barcelona’s difficult economic situation complicates the possibility of concluding major deals, and therefore Barca moved to sell some players, to avoid financial fair play crises.
And the newspaper announced, that at the end of the season, Barcelona is expected to succeed in signing distinguished players, through sponsorship contracts, as well as selling Umtiti and Lenglet.
