British press sources revealed that the English club Tottenham will have to enter into a strong struggle with its Premier League rivals Arsenal and Everton, in order to win the services of the Barcelona sniper this January.
Tottenham Hotspur coach Antonio Conte and sporting director Fabio Paratici are trying to add creativity to their squad, with an attacking midfielder at the fore in the transfer market.
And according to the British newspaper, “Daily Mail”, citing “El Nacional”, the Brazilian fits the criteria of Tottenham perfectly, and will be available in the January transfer window.
Everton are the latest team to join the race for the 29-year-old alongside the two clubs in north London, the newspaper said.
Coutinho moved to Barcelona in January 2018 for 146 million pounds, coming from Liverpool, but he faced difficulties in Catalonia, so he was loaned to Bayern Munich for the 2019-20 season, before returning to Camp Nou again.
And Antonio Conte, coach of Tottenham, announced that he needed to hold a meeting with Spurs officials to talk about the transfer market.
And Brazilian and Spanish reports indicated that Coutinho is seeking to leave to get time to participate in order to secure a place in his country’s squad for Brazil to participate in the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
