A French journalist revealed a resounding surprise about the transfer of Dutch player Matthijs de Ligt, former Ajax Amsterdam player to Juventus, in 2019.

The journalist said that the Italian Mino Raiola, the agent of the Dutch star Matthias de Ligt, the current Juventus defender, has put a clause in the knot that facilitates his transfer to Barcelona.

De Ligt was linked with leaving Juventus last summer, in search of an opportunity to participate mainly, while his club is trying to get rid of him in return for a large sum of money.

According to the French website le10sport, Raiola put a special clause in De Ligt’s contract with Juventus, when he moved from Ajax in the summer of 2019, allowing him to leave for Barcelona, in the event of an offer of 75 million euros.

The report said that Barcelona is one of the clubs deeply interested in the inclusion of De Ligt, after it failed to include him in 2019. Barcelona is seeking to strengthen its defenses, in light of the advancing age of Gerard Pique and his approaching retirement, in addition to their desire to get rid of the French duo Clement Lengli and Samuel Umtiti.

The report confirmed that the 22-year-old defender has a great desire to move to the Catalan club during the coming period.

The report indicated that De Ligt’s contract with Juventus contains a penalty clause of 140 million euros, but the Bianconeri may welcome his departure if an offer of 75 million euros arrives.

Joan Laporta, president of Barcelona, believes that the Catalan team is still able to win the La Liga title this season, despite the difficulty of his position.

Barcelona is in fifth place in the La Liga standings with 38 points, one point behind Atletico Madrid, fourth, and two points behind third place occupied by Real Betis, knowing that Real Madrid is in the lead with 54 points, and has played two more games than Barca.
