It seems that the suffering of the Spanish club Barcelona, is still present, and this matter was evident in their neglect of the historical scorer Lionel Messi in the last summer transfer season.
Barcelona is suffering at the sporting and financial levels, and one of the reasons for this collapse is due to the exorbitant wage bill that the club pays to several players, most notably the quartet nicknamed the Holy Cows: Gerard Pique, Sergio Busquets, Jordi Alba and Serge Roberto.
And although the Barca administration has succeeded in reducing the wages of some players to be able to conclude new deals to strengthen the team, it still needs to reduce that bill to conclude other deals in the summer.
And according to what was reported by the Catalan newspaper “Sport”, the 30-year-old player, Sergi Roberto, will leave Barcelona in the summer, after talks between the two sides reached a dead end.
The newspaper said that Roberto was hoping to sign a new contract with Barca, before his current contract with the club expires at the end of the season.
She continued, however, negotiations to renew Sergi Roberto’s contract collapsed, and it seems inevitable that the young Barcelona player will play for another team next season, as Barcelona is not forced to renew the contract of a player he does not want and so far everything is correct.
But instead, it is fair to say that Sergi Roberto has been an excellent player for years, a good supporter of Messi and perhaps the only worthy alternative to Alves on the right as he plays in a position other than his original position.
And Sergi Roberto was an unfair scapegoat for the older players in the team and it is interesting that he is leaving, but the others remain.
