Sergio Aguero, the retired Barcelona and Argentina striker, revealed a high-caliber surprise about his return to the world of football.
Aguero had decided to retire from football in mid-December, due to heart problems that forced him to make the difficult decision.
Aguero said, in an interview with Argentine “Radio 10”, that he could join the technical staff of the Argentine national team under the command of coach Lionel Scaloni, to participate in the 2022 World Cup scheduled for late this year in Qatar.
Aguero made statements to Argentine radio, in which he said: “I spoke with Scaloni. He called me, and the players also, and we are thinking of holding a meeting this week, and there is a possibility to join the technical staff.”
And the historic Manchester City scorer continued his statements: “I would like to participate in the World Cup, and in fact, if I participate in the tournament, I will be with the players, and I will participate in the training.”
Aguero was within the qualification for the 2022 World Cup early, several rounds before the end of the qualifiers, as he is currently in second place with 35 points, 4 points behind the leaders Brazil (3 matches each), and 10 points against Ecuador, which has only two matches.
It is noteworthy that Aguero was among the list of Argentina’s team that managed to crown the 2021 Copa America title that was held in Brazil last year, with which tango dancers ended a fast that spanned 28 years without winning titles.
