It seems that three of the giants of European clubs will enter into a terrible struggle to include a high-caliber French defensive deal from the Spanish club Seville.
Chelsea, Barcelona and Real Madrid are all interested in signing Sevilla centre-back Jules Conde in the summer. The French defender has a £68m release clause in his contract, and the three clubs are set to fight for him in the transfer market.
And according to what was published by the German Sky Network, Chelsea, Barcelona and Real Madrid are all interested in signing Seville’s central defender Jules Conde in the upcoming summer Mercato.
The network indicated that the three clubs had contacted the French player’s representatives.
The network stated, that the French defender has a release clause of 68 million pounds in his contract, and the three clubs are set to fight for him in the transfer market.
Chelsea were very close to signing Conde last summer but decided not to pay the release clause in the end, now it seems likely that they will have to battle the two Spanish giants to secure the Frenchman’s services.
Conde moved to Sevilla from Bordeaux in 2019 for around €25m and has been a mainstay in the Andalusian defense ever since. He played 119 games for the Spanish club and also contributed seven goals and made three assists. However, his discipline on the field has been under scrutiny this season.
Barcelona are trying hard to find a replacement for 35-year-old Gerard Pique, and with Ronald Araujo also rumored to leave the club in the summer, they will need to sign a central defender.
On the other hand, Real Madrid abandoned Sergio Ramos and Raphael Varane last summer during the signing of David Alaba.
While Chelsea have three defenders on contract in the summer, they are Cesar Azpilicueta, Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen.
The network claimed that Barcelona is interested in signing Christensen and Azpilicueta, while Real Madrid is interested in contracting the latter. If the two Spanish clubs sign them on a free transfer, they can abandon their interest in Conde.
