Spanish press sources revealed that Barcelona is preparing to give up three players during the upcoming summer transfers, in order to include more elements.

The Catalan team has improved significantly over the past few weeks, but that did not stop Xavi and club president Joan Laporta from thinking about the future.

Xavi puts the defense line in his first priority, which he focuses on strengthening, by planning to contract with defenders at least next summer.

According to the newspaper “Mundo Deportivo”, Chelsea duo Andreas Christensen and Cesar Azpilicueta are the closest at the present time to coming for free after the end of their contracts with the London club.

She said that Barcelona will have to give up some elements, namely the trio of Samuel Umtiti, Oscar Mingueza and Clement Longlet.

The Catalan club is looking to sell Lunglet as a priority, while obtaining an appropriate financial return that will benefit him in other deals, given his age of 26 years, amid interest from some European teams in contracting him, especially in the English Premier League.

As for Umtiti, the situation is different, because he was exposed to many injuries in the recent period, and when he began to recover and appeared at distinct levels that surprised everyone, he suffered a new injury to his toe to continue the suffering and the club loses hope that the injuries will move away from him so that leaving is the best option.

In the end, Oscar Mingueza will also have to pack his bags and leave, because he is not playing and has been completely out of Xavi’s accounts since his arrival, and it seems that the Spanish coach is not satisfied with his services.

This leaves Barcelona’s defense, Ronald Araujo, Eric Garcia and Gerard Pique, with two reinforcements in the summer to fully consolidate the line.

It is noteworthy that Barcelona recently qualified for the round of 16 of the European League to face the Turkish Galatasaray, and is fourth in the Spanish League table with 45 points, 15 points behind leaders Real Madrid.
