The Spanish League competition has entered its last ten days, with Real Madrid that does not stop and continues to advance at an impressive speed towards one of its great goals for this season, with Carlo Ancelotti on the bench in the entity of Madrid.
The big contender for the Meringue League title is Sevilla, which is currently in second place in the competition, but little by little it begins to see how the chances of facing Real Madrid for the first place are lost.
However, those led by Julen Lopetegui are struggling to maintain their second place in La Liga, despite the fact that they are very concerned about some refereeing errors that have occurred in recent weeks which could, in their view, seek Barcelona’s favour.
In this context, the Spanish newspaper, Defensa Central, revealed that the Seville coach said that they are being persecuted by the referees, in favor of Barcelona, in order to participate in the next edition of the Spanish Super Cup, which they must obtain second place to participate in.
The Andalusian club is particularly concerned after what happened against Rayo Vallecano, in a match in which he was subjected to an unconquered goal against Rafael Mir and a possible penalty that was canceled by the VAR, in a confrontation between Catena and the Seville striker.
And coach Lopetegui added: “We are confused. I don’t know how to comment on the VAR because I don’t know how to explain it.
He continued: “They told us about the VAR that he interferes when he is black or white, with a big mistake, but it seems that today was not the case and they harmed us.”
And he added: “The referee was called, the VAR was not for that, if not, then it has no end. Wateem: I am puzzled by what the rulers themselves told us.
And the newspaper pointed out, that Lopetegui was questioned due to refereeing errors when he was at the Vallecas stadium.
It is worth noting that the first and second places in the league competition are granted the right to participate in the next edition of the Super Cup, as well as the finalists in the King’s Cup, namely Valencia and Real Betis.
