The Uruguayan player, Ronald Araujo, defender of Barcelona, ignited the conflict between 3 English Premier League clubs in order to sign him in the next summer transfer season.
Araujo’s current contract with Barcelona is scheduled to expire in the summer of 2023, and the 23-year-old is still negotiating a new contract with the Catalan giant.

Araujo has become one of the most striking defenders in European football, and his performances over the past two seasons at Barcelona have attracted the attention of Europe’s biggest clubs.

According to the British newspaper, “Daily Mail”, Araujo has received calls from 3 big clubs in the English Premier League, and they are ready to double the money provided by Barcelona.

And the newspaper pointed out that the clubs of Liverpool, Chelsea and Manchester United expressed their great interest in defender Ronald Araujo, in light of the continued failure of his club, Barcelona, to reach an agreement with him regarding the extension of his contract.

And the newspaper said: “These three clubs have made the greatest progress in their intention to contract with Araujo, which are Liverpool, Chelsea and Manchester United, although the London club is currently banned from any sale or purchase due to the freezing of the assets of its owner Roman Abramovich.”

Despite this, Barcelona Vice-President Rafa Yusti remains confident in his ability to persuade Araujo as well as fellow youngster Gavi to stay at the club beyond 2023.

The newspaper, quoting the Catalan newspaper, Sport, stated that Araujo had previously rejected an offer from Barcelona to renew his contract, under the pretext of the weak salary offered to him, and the same reports claimed that the Catalan club offered Araujo three times his current salary.

The Uruguay international signed with Barcelona in August 2018, leaving the Boston River team in Uruguay to link up with the reserve team.

And the player was quickly promoted to the first team, and now he has become a main cog in the defense line, after he played 70 matches with him in all competitions, 33 matches during the current season, knowing that he scored 4 times in 22 La Liga matches this season.
