Seville coach Julian Lopetegui expressed his regret over their loss in yesterday’s match against Barcelona in the Spanish League.
The two teams met in the thirtieth round of the Spanish League, at the Camp Nou, where Barcelona won 1-0.
“We lost against one of the strongest teams in Spain, and in Europe as well, they faced an opponent who was able to try to harm them, and he had options to achieve something positive,” Lopetegui said in comments reported by the Spanish newspaper “Marca”.
And the Andalusian team coach continued: “We faced many situations of superiority, but we did not finish well in the last pass. In the last procedure, the last third of the field, there was a lack of that.”
The former Real Madrid coach added: “We had possession of the ball and we had to hurt them. The team handled the match well, but we lacked clarity and good decisions in the final stage.”
He continued, “We leave without a point, which makes us sad, Karim is tender? He just came from injury, it was a very difficult match for him, he had to defend against Dembele, and in the end he suffered.”
He continued, “We always aim to achieve something historic here, qualifying for the Champions League three times in a row, it will be complicated and difficult, but we are ready to face that battle, we have to compete in every match as if it were a final.”
When asked if Barcelona could compete for the La Liga title, Lopetegui replied: “I have to analyze my team. The team that scores the most points will win the league. Barcelona is in an excellent moment. There are 8 games left and everyone will fight for their goals. Barcelona has a team to win.” With all the points and competitions they play.”
