The Barcelona administration is working on taking some serious steps, which, if successful, will be the biggest surprises in the current summer transfer market.
According to what was announced by Catalunya Radio, the Barcelona administration contacted its counterpart in Atlético de Madrid and requested the services of the young Portuguese striker Joao Felix.
Barcelona did not submit a request to Atletico Madrid to buy Joao’s contract, but rather they asked him to come to the club on loan. And perhaps it is the logical thing in the request, because the Atletico administration will not give up its star joined with 120 million euros easily.
For its part, the Catalan club administration is awaiting a response from Atletico to the loan request before the last day of the summer transfer window. The reason for the Blaugrana to take this step comes at the request of coach Ronald Koeman, who announced his need for it because he is good at playing on the wing and under the spearhead.
Moreover, Mundo Deportivo newspaper suggested that Barcelona think of Joao in particular due to the excellent relationship that exists between Barcelona’s president, Joan Laporta, and the Portuguese player’s agent, Jorge Mendes. So far, although 3 rounds of the La Liga competition have passed, Joao did not appear with his Spanish champions team at the beginning of his campaign to defend his title this season, due to his recovery from the surgery he underwent on his ankle last July.
It is worth noting that Felix joined Atletico Madrid in the summer of 2019 and has a contract with him until the summer of 2026, and at that time it was the most expensive deal in the history of the Spanish club, in order to compensate for the departure of Antoine Griezmann to Barcelona.
